My path to labor law

My first encounter with labor law was during my studies in 2010. At that time, I completed a part-time internship at the Hamburg Labor Court in the chambers of Judge Albers, which I voluntarily extended. I was overwhelmed by the dimensions of labor law and, at the same time, fascinated by how different regulatory levels interact. Added to that was the explosive nature of labor law proceedings – there's always a lot at stake: your job, security, and money, of course.

Early specialization in labor law

From then on, it was clear to me: labor law would be my field. Labor law is interesting, challenging, and dynamic. Furthermore, it fulfills an important function, namely establishing a fair balance between employees, employers, works councils, and unions. So, I prepared myself to make my contribution here.

Therefore, from then on, I consumed everything I could get my hands on about labor law. My curiosity knew no bounds. Further training at the Hamburg Labor Court, in a corporate group, and at a labor law firm gave me the final touches in labor law to successfully launch my career as a labor lawyer. What happened next? Well, for me there was no question: a boutique law firm was the right place to get started quickly and intensively as a lawyer specializing in employment law. I wanted to gain valuable experience as quickly as possible and apply my knowledge of employment law. Three negotiations in one day, numerous consultations, and written submissions were not uncommon. Always in the front row, always under pressure and in the legal fray – that was my daily routine. In the meantime, I earned the title of "Specialist Lawyer for Employment Law." Along the way, employee data protection became another focus of my legal work. I have also been working nationwide for some time as a consultant on employment, works constitution, and data protection law.
